Port of Portland announce plan to build Woodchip facility
ITC Chief Executive Officer, Mr Vince Erasmus has welcomed the Port of Portland announcement that Gunns Ltd and the Port have entered an agreement to build a woodchip export facility at the Port, allowing export of certified hardwood plantation resource from the Green Triangle Region.
"For growers, investors and the plantation forestry sector in the Green Triangle Region, this announcement gives them long awaited certainty that will underpin the harvest and sale of environmentally certified plantation timber. ITC have a commercial arrangement with Gunns at the Port to allow environmentally certified plantation timber to reach ITC customers." Mr Erasmus said.
